Partners and Action
About Us
Partners and Action is the health and HIV/AIDS risk management arm of the broader MicroFinance Risk programme, which focuses on research, development, implementation and knowledge sharing around appropriate risk management for microfinance and microInsurance institutions.
The Partners and Action is an initiative started by the Africap Microfinance Fund. Africap is a US$15 million equity investment fund dedicated to the microfinance industry in Africa. Africap integrates a number of elements in each investment package, similar to the venture capital model, providing active governance, management advice and technical assistance in addition to equity and quasi-equity capital.
The content of this site and the Guidebook "Partners and Action" was written by Dominic Liber of Quindiem Consulting and Carolijn Gommans of Just Good Business. Quindiem is an actuarial consultancy based in South Africa providing microInsurance and microfinance consulting as well as more traditional life and non-life Insurance consulting to clients globally. Just Good Business is based in Zambia and specialises in microfinance and micro health Insurance consulting.
This project was funded by the International Finance Corporation (the IFC), the Swedish International Development Agency SIDA, the Global Coalition on HIV & AIDS and the Africa Microfinance Network AFMIN. We would like to thank the Executive Committee, the Review Committee and the original Working Group in Nairobi for their support in the development of this initiative.
